Manually adding metadata
You can manually add information into all sections within a song.
The sections are audio metadata, credits, songwriter credits, sessions, audio and lyrics.
Metadata
In the audio metadata section you can add parental advisory information,
genre, duration, language, sample information and ISRC.
Credits
The credits section is for performance details on the sound recording.
This includes name details, IPN, ISNI, roles such as producer, mixing engineer or vocalist.
The other option available is to add instruments.
You can add multiple roles and instruments at the same time.
Songwriter credits
This section covers the details for all songwriters. You can add the name, split information by percentage, IPI, ISNI and roles.
You can choose more than one songwriting role at the same time.
You can also add the publisher name and IPI number in this section.
Multiple publishers can be added for one person.
Sessions
In this section you can add information about recording sessions.
You can choose from a list of recording session types, add details on
how long the session lasted and details about the venue, room and address.
You can also add the country the session occurred in.
Audio
This is where you upload audio files to Connex.
Click the ‘upload’ button and choose your audio file.

To have different versions of the song, you will need to
create a new version each time when doing this manually.
This can be done by clicking the plus symbol in the left hand menu.

Lyrics
Clicking on the ‘add lyrics’ button opens up a text box.
You can either type the lyrics in or copy and paste them into the box.
If you have access to lyric transcription, you can automatically transcribe the lyrics from a song.
Adding the information
There is a clear button in the centre of all but two sections for you to add information.
Within the audio section the upload audio button is to the right of your screen.
To add audio metadata, click on the section and an edit symbol will appear
on the right hand side of the screen.
Editing & deleting
Once you’ve added information, hover over it and you will see 3 dots in the
top right hand corner of each piece of information.
When you click on these it gives you the option to edit or delete the information.
